Hi I’m Helen, I’m a photographer because I have a wanderlust for adventure and I love to provide people with  photographs that they will love for all time.

I’d first got into photography At 17  when I was going through that difficult teenage phase. I distinctly remember sitting in my kitchen cradling a lukewarm cup of tea and just staring at the wall thinking“ What on earth do I do next?”. Do I go to college or do I get a work apprenticeship?.

Caught up in my thoughts I felt my Dad place his hand on my shoulder asking me to take a walk with him because my teenage pouting was in his words. “Dramatic” and I wouldn’t get anything done sat here. He’d also promised if I went with him we’d get a Sunday lunch at the local country pub I’d loved so much.

So after the promise of a beef roast with a huge Yorkshire pudding. I grabbed my gloves and coat and set out with him. The weather was frosty and my Dad was insistent on testing out his camera, unfortunately due to trying to get a reluctant 17 year old me out of the house , he’d accidentally left his gloves behind so he’d asked me to take the shot instead. So I grumpily said yes and took the picture. Yet as I took the picture I felt a sense of calm and control wash over me. I liked the feeling of capturing moments in time and I loved the idea of creating my own moments to catch.

During my internal thought process my Dad was impatiently looking over my shoulder trying to get his camera back. He took a look at the photograph  I’d taken and said “ That’s not a bad shot Helen”. So I thought , I  could work with not bad .With nothing to lose I chose to try my hand at Photography and enrolled at college.

From there a few amazing events happened.

  • I won a MySpace  international photo competition for black and white street photography. My winning photograph ended up in a fashion coffee table book called Front which was distributed all over London.
  • Whilst studying Photography at De-Montfort university myself and 2 others were chosen to assist top London Fashion photographer Rory Payne in a fashion photoshoot
  • After my time at university I was contacted to shoot my first ever wedding taking place in Positiano/Italy. This is where I felt I’d truly found the photographic style that was right for me

Since that International wedding  I’ve pursued my passion further and ventured into perfecting weddings , creating lasting memories for years to come. What can I say, I love… love!

Helen was the main photographer for our wedding on the 26th May, she was brilliant. She kept in contact with us from the run up, making suggestions of photos she thought we'd like, showing a true passion. On the day she was professional and courteous, we had to tell her to stop and enjoy the day herself! Incredibly enthusiastic, hard-working and thorough

Carnival Rose took some wonderful photos of my work including some fab close ups and models with my bouquets on location which I have included on my page @Krystalsbouquets many thanks

We had a brilliant time shooting our first family shoot with Helen. Very patient when our little boy wasn't playing ball. A relaxed environment in the home studio. Loved it!

We trusted Helen /Carnival Rose with the photography for our big day on the 9th Aug 2018.

She went above and beyond to make us comfortable, took us through an in depth plan of the big day beforehand and made sure every little touch went without a hitch!

She arrived at our hotel room early on the day, and got to work straight away, photographing our rings, bouquet etc and captured some truly stunning images. She helped with my dress and make-up, something I will be eternally grateful for!

Helen made the whole wedding about us and we couldn't be happier to have her as our photographer!
